The goal of the Research Committee is to consolidate and condense information about the hedge fund industry that the Committee gathers through the activities outlined below. The information will be disseminated to Chapter member as well as to Japanese and Global investors through the WEB and through Chapter sponsored seminars.
The Research Committee will also cooperate with the Education Committee in order to promote a better understanding of our industry among investors.
Specific activities will include the following:
- Collect data and information on the hedge fund industry in Asia, with the primary focus on Japan
- Total capital allocated to hedge funds.
- Research on hedge fund investment activity in Asia (including the regulatory environment - both presently and future prospects).
- Research on Japanese hedge fund mangers (their scale, their investment scope and their investment policies).
- Information exchange with the research communities in other regions.
- Collaborate with London for information gathering.
- Sift through the London based research to identify those items that are of interest to the Japan Chapter membership and then to add them to the local Website.
- Participate in research projects initiated by the London office.
- Provide ideas and suggestions for the AIMA - London Business School joint project on "Hedge Fund Index Structuring".
